    Tagui, originally from the Dominican Republic, attended beauty school and earned a position with a large national salon chain in New York. Her American Dream: to own her own beauty shop. Everything changed the day she heard an ad on the radio for ASSETS small business training program, which Sarah’s Hope Jewelry helps support. “ASSETS gave me the tools to understand how to open a business, but also the strength and desire to believe I could move forward,” said Tagui.

    After saving, Tagui bought a house and converted the main floor into her beauty shop, “Hair by Tagui”, while renting out the upper level for extra income
