Stacey and her husband, Rob, had been operating a roofing business in Toledo, Ohio, for 10 years when, in 2008, the economy fell. "Business just dried up overnight," she explained.
In a very competitive industry, they struggled to find leads and contracts -- not to mention find the means to obtain the working capital needed to pay for costly job materials upfront. With two daughters to support, living paycheck-to-paycheck, they were on the verge of giving up.
"I came into the ASSETS program depressed, confused, angry, alone and hanging by a thread of hope,” Stacey explained. “I completed the program revitalized, confident, knowledgeable, and a member of a new support family. I believe the people who are part of ASSETS are really angels in disguise."
